The Harvest 2011 has ended
Wednesday August 31st, under a very nice blue sky, we have begun the 2011 harvest with a small team. We have first worked in the Echezeaux Grand Cru, then the Nuits 1er Cru Les Damodes. The quality is good and the grapes we have in the vats very promissing.
The full team starts to work on September 1st with the Ladoix 1er Cru then the Côte de Nuits Villages.
The manual harvest ended on September 10 in the Bellis Chardonnay, which was wonderful. 2011 should be a great vintage. You will find some pictures here.
50 years of the Hautes-Côtes
This summer will see the 50th birthday of the Hautes-Côtes Appellation. Vinexpo
Dimanche 19 Juin a partir de 17H, about100 professionnals rode to Château Tire-Pe near Bordeaux, to attend the Off organized by "Contains Sulfites"... 13 wine makers and an Italian olive oil produceer that presented their products in a relaxed setting. Claire presented her 2009 and made many good contacts.
Strange Year!
2011 is a very precocious year. The vineyard is 3 weeks ahead of schedule. Compare for instance the pictures taken on April 21, or the pictures showing a similar stage of my little vine in the Echezeaux
But not everything is ahead. The Orchis Mascula are blooming now, while they were at this stage at the end of April last year. Probably the dry weather slowing their development.
In any case the vine is resisting. Harvest is planned at the end of August!
Open Days 2011
Our open days were again a success, on May 14 and 15. Again a great success. If you miss it, we hope to see you next year.
La Boisson des Tontons
At the occasion of the 3rd International Thriller Film Festival of Beaune, the Domain reveals its new label for the "Passetoutgrain", a reference to Fernand Naudin (Lino Ventura) and the movie the Tontons Flingueurs, a classic French movie. The new label has been presented on March 28 at the Bistrot Bourguignon in Beaune. On the menu, a glass of red (Bourgogne Passetoutgrain 2009), saucisson (salaisons du Morvan), organic cheese from Saunières, and good bread, ... Above all, a lot of friendship and a zest of madness !
Bu sur le Web / Drunk on the Web
Our wines are appreciated worldwide, and on the web... A Swiss friend has found this Youtube degustation by Aurélia, from Oenopole, our importer in Quebec, who tastes the Bellis Perennis 2008
Saint Vincent Tournante 2011
The domain is actively engaged in the organization of the traditional events of the "Saint Vincent Tournante" in 2011 in the village of CorgoloinSaint Vincent Tournante à Corgoloin. Obviously, we provide wine as a producer of Côte de Nuit Village. We are also helping with the decoration, provide material and host some of the people in the organization team.
2011 A Flowery Year

The Harvest has ended on October 6, 2010
We harvested our vineyard from September 22 to October 6. The month of August gave all its potential: between the abundant rain, the temperature was high. The pinots already show their personality, with the sugar level quite high. On the other hand, the conditions of the harvest are difficult. Therefore, 2010 will be low in volume but high in quality.
The harvest is hard work but also a great moment of team spirit, working together to deliver the best of what Nature offers. Here are the first pictures of the harvest and the menus of the teams, with the recipes, from Marie and Liliane.
September is also the month of the new releases. The new price list will be published and sent early October. You will be able to discover:
- The Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits 2008 Myosotis arvensis, vinified like the Orchis mascula, but with its own personality...
- The Aloxe Corton 2008 : please note that the harvest was very small due to hail, so I have to limit sales to 3 bottles per person. Produced from old vines, this wine will surprise you with its fruit and masculine structure. A wine to keep!
- The Côte de Nuits Villages 2008, produced with the Clos de Magny and the Vieilles Vignes, which have converged with time. You will discover also the Viola odorata, the Orchis way, coming 100 % from old vines.
And for all those waiting for the 2009, the first cuvees are available, but for the others, you will need to wait a bit.
Les Vins de Laure
When Jean-Marie Périer, photographer of the Stars, from the Rolling Stones to Alain Delon meets Laure Gasparollo, a wine writer, a wonderful book appears. She tells us about her encouters with pasionnate winemakers, including Claire and the Domaine Naudin-Ferrand.

Nature Wines
Starting in 2009, we put forward the "nature" wines, as you are more and more numerous in appreciating them and asking us more of them. In all our tables, they are highlighted by their colored background.
- Viola Odorata, showing the refinement of our whole berry vinification, with the typical expression of the Cote de Nuits Villages : more volume and more structure.
- Orchis Mascula, very delicate
- Nuits 1er Cru les Damodes : for the afficionados of wines with a strong personality, discover this First Grow with structure and finesse, to keep a few years in the cellar before drinling
- Echezeaux Grand Cru, for very special occasions
- Do not forget the Le Clou 34 and Bellis, in white, or the Omayga, in red...
Vinified with great respect for the grape, those wines, very "nature", are fragrant, complex, and sometimes surprising. Unfiltered, they are nevertheless very stable, thanks to a small addition of sulfite at bottling: they travel and keep very well. Be tempted, but act quickly as they are available in limited quantities
2009 Harvest at the Domaine Naudin Ferrand
We have begun the harvest on Friday September 11, with a small team : the Echezeaux and the Nuits 1er Cru Damodes are now in the vats. The harvest continues the 14th with a full team (about 20 people) starting with the Ladoix 1er Cru. The manual harvest ended on the 22nd of September, with a very fair weather and a good spirit. The traditional "Paulée", the meal ending the harvest, allowed everyone to enjoy the time spent together, with a few good bottles, before leaving the domain. For us, time to focus on raising the wine. In any case, it appears to be an outstanding vintage ...
Here is a gallery of the 2009 harvest pictures.
Viola odorata 2007
This fall, our new "Viola odorata", vintage 2007, will be available. It is the "Cote de Nuit Village" vinified without sulfur, the cousin of our "Orchis Macula". You can consult the technical sheet (in French)
New Logo, New Livery
Our new logo begins to appear on our bottle labels, beginning with the "Hautes Côtes". It is an opportunity to freshen-up everything: the font, clean, without ambiguities, like us. The logo brings also a touch of color, the green: daring for some, shocking even? It is an important sign for us: a reminder that everything starts with the vine.
NF for our identity: Naudin for the vineyard, Ferrand for Liliane who spent her live welcoming our clients, our friends.
And this house, the birthplace of my grandfather, which hosts our office and our cellars today.
This logo is our past, our present, our future.
Open Days 2008
Those days were a success, even with a changing weather. We could appreciate not only the wines of the domain but also those of six other winemakers, taste delicious traditional food offerings, and appreciate the work of three artists. Additionally, the theater company "Cassis Theatre" gave us a good laugh with their play. Here are a few pictures of the event:
April 2008 - Aloxe Corton
Soon a new appellation: Aloxe Corton. At the end of March, a friend made us the honor to trusting us to manage a parcel on prestigious Aloxe Corton appellation: first harvest in 2008 and first bottles available for tasting in 2010!
Awards
April May is the season for awards. In Mâcon, our 2006 have received 5 awards. You will be able to taste them starting September 1st.
